The Philips SpeechMike offers dictation and navigation in one device. Ideal for speech recognition, voicemail, internet telephony, PC video and conferencing applications. This version is the unit only, no Philips dictation management software is included. For a version with the dictation management software click here.
Whether in a small office or a large networked facility, the SpeechMike is the accepted standard for PC dictation. Several models of SpeechMike let the user choose the model that works best for their needs. Philips have recently launched the SpeechMike Air which is a wireless version of the traditional SpeechMike, allowing the flexibility of being mobile. See SpeechMike Air.
For speech recognition users, the SpeechMike offers a good alternative to the regular headset microphones. An extremely popular choice amongst professional users who conduct all dictation at the PC on account of it’s mouse navigation capability via inbuilt trackball.

New - Speech Control Utility
A new Speech Control software also allows to assign specific functions to the programmable buttons of the SpeechMike or configure the Philips foot control, allowing each user to customise the device according to individual preference. Pre-installed default settings make the SpeechMike ready for immediate operation with Dragon NaturallySpeaking speech recognition software. For example pressing the 'REC' button on the Philips SpeechMike turns on your Dragon NaturallySpeaking microphone. This utility will be packaged with the Philips SpeechMike soon, it is free to download from the following area.
Click on 'Support Centre', click on 'Software Downloads', on the 'Software'' drop list select 'Speech Control' and click the arrow to the right-hand side, then scroll down to the SpeechControl utility and download accordingly. The latest version is 2.8/260
