The Olympus DS 5000 is the latest edition to the Pro Line Range and boasts a number of features over and above any past release.
This model is the first to incorporate dual memory support, automatic software and hardware updates, and advanced management features within the accompanying software module.
Dictations can be made in two different modes, three programmable smart buttons aid easy access, and the support for both SD and Micros SD card means storage can be extended and flexibly managed.
Menu choice
s are intuitive and the slide switch control allows the most common functions to be accessed in a fraction of a second. Buttons are located ergonomically and centrally to permit easy data input and access. The large back lit LCD screen also ensures all settings and modes are easy to view.
Security features on the device protect against unauthorised playback or duplication of recordings. Encryption and decryption alongside password protection are available as standard.
When combined with the accompanying AS 5000 Transcription Kit, users are equipped with a powerful digital workflow solution for the creation, transfer, storage and organisation of dictation.
DS 5000iD Option
The additional option of protection via biometric (fingerprint) information can also be utilised on the DS5000iD model (see option at top of page to purchase this model). A fingerprint pane on the back of the device allows the user to protect content to an even greater degree.

Player Pro R5 Software
The accompanying Player Pro R5 Software is perhaps the greatest improvement over past models for anyone employing multiple users with the transfer and management of files occurring via a networked system.
Loaded onto the authors PC or laptop, the module allows dictation to be downloaded and distributed for typing or review. All earlier software features have been retained alongside a number of additions and improvements:

In using this mechanism, all individual licence keys packaged with software copies can be ‘exchanged and consolidated’ so that all users can run off the same licence key - for management and standardisation of large scale usage this is invaluable! Automatic Transcription
Combine with speech recognition software for automatic transcription of voice files.
This provides an alternative option to manual audio typing. Files dictated onto the recorder are downloaded onto a laptop or PC.
