Whilst speech recognition software allows the user to dictate and have text transcribed on screen in real time, the addition of a digital recorder adds a new dimension. Rather than restrict dictation to the PC/office environment, notes may be made on the move.
On return to the laptop or PC, files from the recorder are docked and downloaded as usual. Rather than these then been sent to a secretary or reviewed and typed by the author themselves, the Dragon package can be used to automatically transcribe. The completed document can then be treated exactly the same as any other; amend, save, print or email.

Headset Microphone?
If you plan to use the DS 5000 for dictation in a noisy environment, a high quality headset microphone is a good option to ensure high quality recording for speech recognition transcription on download of the files.
A mike in connection headset microphone can be used fir dictation into dragon at the PC, but can also be plugged directly into the DS 5000 recorder to improve sound input for recordings made out of the office and on the device.
